Bridges to Excellence is a not-for-profit organization developed by employers, physicians, health care services, researchers and other industry experts. Its mission is to create significant leaps in the quality of care by recognizing and rewarding health care providers who demonstrate that they have implemented comprehensive solutions for managing patients and delivering safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable and patient-centered care.
The Commonwealth Fund
The Commonwealth Fund is a private foundation that aims to promote a high performing health care system that achieves better access, improved quality, and greater efficiency, particularly for society's most vulnerable.
Institute for Healthcare Improvement
The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) is an independent, not-for-profit organization helping to lead the improvement of health care throughout the world. Founded in 1991 and based in Cambridge, Mass., IHI works to accelerate improvement by building the will for change, cultivating promising concepts for improving patient care and helping health care systems put those ideas into action.
The National Guideline Clearinghouse™
The National Guideline Clearinghouse™ (NGC) is a public resource for evidence-based clinical practice guidelines. NGC is an initiative of the AHRQ, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. NGC was originally created by AHRQ in partnership with the American Medical Association and the American Association of Health Plans (now America's Health Insurance Plans [AHIP]). NGC offers Syntheses of selected guidelines that cover similar topic areas, and Expert Commentary on issues of interest and importance to the clinical guideline community.
National Quality Forum (NQF)
NQF was established in 1999 to standardize healthcare quality measurement and reporting. Just six years later, NQF has endorsed more than 200 consensus standards. Established by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), QualityNet provides health care quality improvement news, resources and data reporting tools and applications used by health care providers and others. QualityNet is the only CMS-approved Web site for secure communications and health care quality data exchange between: quality improvement organizations (QIOs), hospitals, physician offices, nursing homes, end stage renal disease (ESRD) networks and facilities and data vendors.
The TalkingQuality Web site was developed by the Work Group on Consumer Health Information, with the support of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. The Work Group was facilitated by the staff of Westat and the Quality Measurement Advisory Service. The TalkingQuality Web site is designed to be a comprehensive guide for organizations that are developing reports for consumers about health care quality.
