March 1 CCA Briefing

Care Continuum Alliance Briefing, March 1, 2012

Coordinating Care for Dual Eligibles & Related Populations

On March 1, 2012, the Care Continuum Alliance, with support from Centene Corp., hosted a briefing for about 70 congressional staff members and other health care policy stakeholders on the challenges states and the federal government face coordinating care for dually eligible Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries. For the briefing, the CCA released a policy paper that identifies core program components necessary for operating comprehensive, integrated dual eligible delivery models.

The briefing, which included opening remarks by Rep. Bill Cassidy, MD, R-La., and Matt Salo, Executive Director, National Association of Medicaid Directors, detailed the challenges of integrating care for dual eligible populations and presented CCA member case studies of successful care coordination strategies in use today. Below are slide presentations from presenters, the CCA policy paper and case studies referenced by the paper.
