DMAA Announces Recipients of its 2003 Recognizing Excellence Awards Program

WASHINGTON, DC—The Disease Management Association of America (DMAA) announced the recipients of its 5th Annual Recognizing Excellence Awards Program on October 13th at its Annual Awards Banquet sponsored by American Healthways. The Awards Banquet, held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Chicago in conjunction with DMAA's Annual Disease Management Leadership Forum, honored the following individuals and companies for their leadership in the field of disease management. Awards were presented by The Recognizing Excellence Awards Program Committee Co-Chairs, William Popik, M.D. of Aetna and Mark Santry of GlaxoSmithKline. Congresswoman Nancy Johnson [R-CT] received the President's Award at a special ceremony held during the conference's afternoon plenary session. In presenting the Association's top award to Congresswoman Johnson, DMAA President, Robert Stone of American Healthways noted her longstanding leadership and dedication to helping Americans suffering from chronic disease live better lives.
